useless piece of trivia for u: did you know that over 100 people fall into the gap between the train and the platform on sydney's rail network EVERY YEAR?! this despite all their warnings to stay behind the lines and what have you. people, what's going on with that? what's more common though is the disruption to the train service on the weekends, seeing most services to hornsby get cancelled and replaced with buses. today i had to take the long route and spent several hours sitting on a train or a platform, bored out of my brain.
i noticed today that when it's sunny in sydney the size of the buildings in the cbd make it seem like it's dull. it's a weird phenomenon coming from adelaide where everything's pretty spacious. this causes much sunnies on-sunnies off-sunnies on-sunnies off carry on. what can you do. i was in the city today to check out the resist exhibit which was pretty cool. it was small but i left kinda inspired. i bought a couple of canvases on the way home but whether i ever use them remains to be seen. the art journal i bought a couple of weeks ago remains untouched in it's carrier bag, and my old one ended up covered in scribblings, mainly me practising my new signature which has turned out to be a hassle to change on things anyway [but looks kinda cool]. i've got a few cool ideas rattling around the old head, and on random pieces of scrap paper at work, but lack the energy and talent to get them onto paper properly. same old story really. have been inspired lately by my old bedroom wallpaper in the uk, the crappy polystyrene stuff that has 'texture' or whatever and usually ends up getting picked off by naughty fingers. thinking some sort of tshirt thing...we'll see.
watched kill bill v1 tonight which i absolutely loved. uma thurman was a complete fox and her fly fighting moves were really cool. would love to be kick-ass ninja type chick. can barely touch my toes without breaking out in a sweat tho so not likely to happen any time in the near future. i'm now ready to see v2, and can now say YES already when people ask me if i've seen it. however reviews of the 2nd one aren't really glowing which is a pity as i really enjoyed the first one. also watched something's gotta give tonight...shudder. was what i expected, and jack nicholson plays himself really well, but the whole thing was a bit too, y'know...creepy.
well i'm out of stuff to say, except this: sometimes i get confused but then i forget [from photo of stencil in a street somewhere in the world that i saw in a magazine...werd]

it's now officially may, depending on which bit of the world you're in. it's may in my bit anyway. my how easy it is now to spend ages just looking up random crap on the internet. i'm trawling thru pages of crud to try and find info on some upcoming gigs. rather unsuccessfully...
j5 are heading back to oz for splendor in the grass in july, and since it's a bitch to get 2 days off and actually haul myself down to byron, which requires effort, i'm keeping my fingers crossed for a side show. the emails have started on the site already by the look of it and it worked last time so here's hoping. more great news on the gig front, looks like franz ferdinand will be doing a side show so all i need now is pj and ozomatli and splendor can help itself, tho it would be fun camping and getting myself all drunk and muddy, but hey, not really my scene anyway...
tomorrow i have off. work is less the 9-5 lately than it is the 9-9 or whatever [insert relevant 12 hour or so shift and u get the idea...]. i plan to wake late, eat bacon and eggs, and then i'm off to the city to catch the resist exhibition at the galleries victoria. lots of street art n designers remixing each others work or some such thing, sounds good to me. it's also great just being in the city. it's great being out of hornsby :) i think the debacle that is renewing my drivers license is making me feel a little isolated at the moment. apparently i have to wait for adelaide to fax back my details, show them all sorts of id, get my eyes tested and get a medical certificate [which means i'll have to wear my glasses for driving and in the photo...bitches] and then they might be so kind as to give me a drivers license...hello! i already HAVE one! just do the damn photo and give me a new one you dogs. enough to drive me mad [scuse the pun]. anyway it sucks not driving and i want to drive even more when i don't have the ability to, so roll on next week and let's get this red tape over with.
i tried to think of something funny, like an anecdote, that i could write here to spice things up a little. but i can't think of anything that i did today that was funny. we talked about poo at work for a while that was kinda cool. i didn't get [and still don't fully grasp] the full magnitude of what a hernia [or was it a haemarroid?] is. the one where your bum basically falls out of itself. it's one of those 2 things...i think. anyway i didn't know that could happen. the amount of things that can actually go wrong with the human body is quite staggering. that has to be one of the worst things i've heard of in a while tho. that and the picture of the guy that i saw on rotten.com and he'd put a heating element in the bathtub to keep the water warm and basically boiled himself alive. he was a tub of stinking goop before the cops found him and you pretty much couldn't tell it was a human being. that was pretty sick too.
have the seasons changed yet? i think it's autumn here but i forget when winter starts. i wish i could hibernate.

//how my site sux in 04//
was just looking at the details that i have up on this godforsaken site and it's funny to read how totally differently things turned out. not in london, not sleeping on a couch, some things tend to suck a little more than they did...funny. looking back on some of the entries i've also decided i talk a lot of crap sometimes...i genuinely don't have anything more interesting to say tho, so help yourself really :)

stands for: sad arseholes talking crap. watched the dr phil show today [don't u love how u spend your days off so constructively] and i must say i've never seen such a pile of steaming poo. he even has a son who writes self help books too and guests on his show to get thru to the 'younger' people. yawn. i'm sure he and his father have such a rich and fulfilling relationship, seeing as they are able to dole out cliches to every broken family or neurotic housewife who has the misfortune to appear on his show. was talking to my flatemate beck about dr phil the day b4 too oddly enough, as she'd watched it on her day off also, and on the episode she saw they were talking about ppl who feel the need to totally pay the crap out of other ppl or things they think suck or look bad or whatever, and apparently those of us who indulge in this rather fun sport are just insecure about our own lot. not so much there dr phil, we just like to call it like it is...and i call bullshit on your show!

//the nosebleed section//
saturday 24th april 2004 goes down in history as the night i saw the best live show ever. hilltop hoods - much love to you guys! absolutely awesome, was up front for the whole show and even blagged my way on stage [right next to pressure...who is very hot]. i could definately see myself developing an obsession over this one [if my ringtone, desktop wallpaper and continual ipod playing of their tracks to which i know most of the lyrics isn't enough of an obsession already]. must say that ozi batla/dj bonez fairly had the place going too and the marquee also have to rate a mention for not packing the joint out for the sake of a few extra bucks making it much more comfortable for the people who paid upfront or queued for 3 hours for a ticket [like we had to]. still buzzing from the whole thing, can't believe it's over! there's always next time...
