well it's only been like a year since i used the internet at home or however long, details aren't really necessary, but gee, it's changed a bit. icq didn't work, can't remember my password to anything so no messenger, hotmail etc. nice to see telstra mail still remembered me. am i really over the whole geek phase thing so wholeheartedly that i'm no longer welcome on the world wide web? probably not, cause i'm still writing in this damn thing despite a sneaking suspicion that noone actually reads it except maybe pete and my parents or whatever.
it's one of those things that are kinda sad and nostaligic and the like, and kinda cool cause now i have a life that functions pretty damn fine without the need to log on and check my email every 5 mins or need to rely on icq like it's some sort of quasi-dialysis system. still, it marks a passing of a phase in my life that definately had it's moments, from the old days on the bbs thingys to erm, today, where i'm barely able to load a web site. i'm also about to change teams too, and invest in a crap box pc, and on my budget can only afford the most unaestetically pleasing piece of crap imaginable. still keeping my trusty, sexy mac, but again, another era seems to be passing. i turn 25 next week. mid-mid-life crisis or what. for the first time ever i'm not really planning to celebrate the fact it's my birthday [tho the hilltop hoods playing same weekend is a slight buzz] which is a far cry from the days where i used to get so excited about such things that i'd make myself physically ill and borderline insomniac the night before the big day.
yet i feel a change in the air, a stirring in the trees and the fruits of autumn are ripe for the picking. i think this next year will be an interesting one for me and i guess the fact that it's all a possibility is worth celebrating itself.
