well i finally ventured into sydney and i must say that i'm quite blown away [for those who don't know i've never ever been b4 - not even for a holiday!]. what an absolutely beautiful and amazing city! i loved it. it's so big! my train takes me right into town via the harbour bridge so i looked up from reading harry potter to be greeted with the vision that is the sydney opera house - welcome to the big smoke!!
i spent the day drinking coffee on hyde park [and chatting very loudly to ange in adelaide about how cool it was - i must've sounded quite the tourist!] then made my way up elizabeth st via louis vuitton, cartier, chanel and countless other places where i can't even afford to look in the window! was very cosmopolitan i must say. hit pitt st mall where things are more within my price range - didn't make it to oxford st. tho where i'm told i can find zoo york clothes - next time. after shopping, eating, enjoying another coffee where i sat beside some man made waterfall thing, i walked down to darling harbour and wrote postcards from the edge [of the harbour that is!]. absolutely spent after all this but very very happy with my decision to move here.
today is quite the lame 'let's hang at the mall' day. sat at starbucks as usual drinking coffee, went to annoy beck for a little while, then to the inet cafe where i am currently sitting writing this. was going to check out the gym but since i've conveniently left my trainers at home i didn't bother [maybe i could ask my mum to post them to me?!]. my etnies are useless for the gym cause they've got no support plus i don't tie my laces, so i either get the trainers sent over or wait till after april b4 joining...how lazy do i want to be? it's $37 a fortnight too which hurts.
anyway...i'm off to have dinner and pleasant times at home, happy in the knowledge that i live in a place i'd be proud to show off as my home - sydney, you rock!

damn it i had something fun and interesting to write about but i've forgotten what it was!
don't u just hate it when that happens...
oh wait it just came to me...i was going to write about a rather strange dream i had last night. i had a dream that i was given the news that i only had a few weeks to live as my heart was going to expire sometime in march. this was put down to my rather poor diet and exercise habits...talk about the subconscious. anyway...that bit was fairly creepy, but the next bit is the best bit. to cheer myself up after my rather upsetting news i went shoe shopping and discovered a pair of really wicked kitten heels with those killer pointy toes that had been made out of my etnies. they were grey suede with the yellow 'e' stiched onto each side of the pointy toe. they were truly one of the coolest pairs of shoes i had ever seen. dream turned into nightmare again however when i discovered that they were over $600 as they had been specially designed and manufactured and i therefore could not afford them on my paltry earnings...then i woke up.
i wonder if this strange dream has anything to do with the eastern glow spotted over adelaide last night...the mind does indeed boggle.

trying to find a decent share house in sydney is doing my head in. i have only been looking for a week and already i've had enough. the houses themselves are probably very nice it's just trying to find people who are on my wavelength that's proving to be a problem [mental note - is it me or them that's the issue here?!]. as i'm still very much wet behind the ears on the sydney scene it is essential that i find a household that i am comfortable in. that means people who are social, fun, friendly, like drinking, going out, and generally being young and interesting. if you're reading this and you know anyone [oh and they need to live on the north shore line!] drop me an email.
anyway enough of my sydney grumbling. oh, one more thing, beth orton sold out, but all is not lost as i'm considering tickets for beck next month...$69 tho...ouch.
not much else is happening here...depending on how the house hunt thing goes i might finally venture into town on thursday or friday as i have the day off. i'm scared of the damage i could probably do there tho on the old savings front. i'm trying really really hard [which for me takes extra super effort] to save my money and not spend it on the abundance of cool things i've seen here [very very cool volcom tshirt that might have to blow my resolve] and so far my biggest expense is food [see previous entry...oink] but i'm doing better than usual [only because it's very necessary and mum's not here to bail me out every 5 mins!] so i won't knock myself too hard.
well i'm off for another night...feeling slightly homesick tonight...just want to settle in...sigh :)
