what a squaa day!! i just got back from seeing 'harry potter & the chamber of secrets' and it was excellent! i sat thru the whole thing with a massive grin on my face. it was a huge amount of fun. better than the first yay! also on the way home ange and i both saw a massive shooting star, right above adelaide airport...a sign perhaps? we'll see :)
it's been 48 hrs of movie madness. last night we went to see 'the banger sisters'..oops wait a sec huge spider crawling beside me on curtains...hmm i just flicked it away and now i don't know where it went...never mind...anyway, the banger sisters, don't bother, it was lame. three words for u - 'do it true'. nuff said. afterwards we had a late night curry session at 'raj on taj' where they do mains for $7.50! carnivore variety too...yum. then we watched the end of the matrix and me n pete continued into the wee hours with 'the fly'. decent enough film, pity about jeff goldblum tho. i can't stand him.
i heard an interesting story on the news yesterday too. apparently, lots of old people are falling over. that was the whole story in a nutshell. wtf?! how IS the war on terror going anyway? another interesting story in this months 'face'. where people go around kidnapping people and sexually abusing them at the request of their partners/friends etc. the person doesn't know it's a set up until the very end when they get taken to a big party with all their mates and they drink/take drugs etc. and basically have a squaa time. bizarre. you can actually email somone to have them do this to your friends if u really want to. the gift that keeps on giving...
anyways...i have some 'eastenders' to catch up on, dinner to eat [gross at this hour i know] and work tomorrow...night night
i have tomorrow off...pleasant times are a-coming :)

//vive la france!//
bonne nuit! je pourrai si tout va bien écrire plus en français à une date ultérieure, et sans utiliser un traducteur, comme j'achète un kit d'étude de travail la semaine prochaine.

//to everything there is a season//
xmas craziness is upon us and working in retail becomes a bit of a blur at this time of year because it's so busy. it is where i work anyway. it's monday ffs people! haven't u had enough of shopping after the weekend?! don't you all have work to go to?!
i'm noticing there's a lot of pommy tourists around, probably because of the cricket, here on some sort of barmy army package deal or something. probably also because the weather over in blighty would be godawful at this time of year. it's not much to write home about here either the last couple of days, but i am enjoying the longer days and general vibe that comes from sunnier weather.
well...one more day of work...then im off to join the masses on wednesday for a bit of present buying at marion. pleasant times...

//goodbye tsugumi//
'from the time she was born tsugumi was ridiculously frail, and she had a whole slew of ailments and defects. her doctors announced that she would die young, and her family began preparing for the worst. of course everyone around her spoiled her like you wouldn't believe. her mother carted her around to hospitals all across japan, not sparing any effort, offering up every ounce of her strength to try and extend tsugumi's life even just a little. and so as tsugumi toddled her unsteady way toward adulthood, she developed a personality that was just as pushy and insolent as it could be. she was strong enough that she could manage to lead a more or less normal life, but that just made matters worse. she was malicious, she was rude, she had a foul mouth, she was selfish, she was horribly spoiled, and to top it all off she was brilliantly sneaky.'
i have chosen my new book - 'goodbye tsugumi' by banana yoshimoto, and it sounds fab. the cover is also excellent, lots of extremely good looking books coming from the asian literary stable. very nice. might have to buy this one too.
