ok. i asked the guy at streetcore about their 'bape' tshirts today but sadly i'm still not convinced. there are a number of reasons for this, as follows:
1. dodgy quality of tshirt fabric and printing [in my humble opinion anyway] 2. price - $40?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! 3. typo on label [it's medium, not madium ppl] 4. dodgy labeling inside tshirt, plus distinct lack of 'made in.....' information...ashamed to say perhaps? 5. guy reckons their contacts get them in hong kong. i happen to know there's stacks of bootleg 'bape' gear in hk. the original store there requires an APPOINTMENT ffs to get to see their clothing...how come streetcore get to sell it? plus it's made in japan, in an exclusive part of tokyo 6. there's just something well dodgy about it!
as much as i want 'a bathing ape' apparel i will hold off to see what else transpires and whether more stock will come in so i can more carefully make my assessments. as far as i'm concerned rip off clothing spoils it for those of us who truly appreciate the product cause now something as elusive and desirable as 'bape', which is relatively unheard of and certainly not easy to get your hands on originals, can be worn by anyone with a spare $40 who found that streetcore didn't have the freshjive tshirt they wanted in their size. sorry if this sounds bitchy. if these are indeed original 'bape' articles then i will be most excited, but i'm afraid for now the jury is still out, but leaning heavily towards finding them guilty of fraud.
on a lighter note today was gorgeous. the sun was shining [31 degrees! summer starts here kiddies] and the shops were open and me and peter peter had money to spend. he did a terrific job picking up some squaa jeans and a cool 'zoo york' tshirt and 'carhartt' jacket from 'area 101' [which up until now i've called 'ok101', as i assumed the store was named after the tshirts they sell by that name]. i picked up a wicked tshirt from the same place and after tonight will now chill out on the buying of clothes. my wardrobe is now looking far healthier so it's time to quit while i'm behind :)
today i also found out that dj shadow will play heaven on dec 1st so i'll be off to see that. also a production of irvine welsh's stageplay 'you'll have had your hole' will be staged at minke bar in just over a week. yay for the coming months!
london meter: -1 for buying a tshirt. +1 for having a nice dream about flying there.

//ape shall never kill ape//
i saw a most wonderous thing today. but like all things that appear too good to be true, it most probably is. whilst browsing today in streetcore [first sign that something isn't quite as it seems] i pass a familiar logo stitched onto the sleeve of a tshirt. could it be? surely not...but upon closer inspection it is! it's an ape. a bathing ape! no way i thought. not a 'bape' tshirt in streetcore. for only $40. i seriously must've spent half an hour inspecting this tshirt, but decided against buying it, should i unexpectedly find myself with a counterfeit [how embarrassing would that be?]. the material is a bit flimsy, and the labels are slightly suspect and i've heard of the bootleg stuff u can get in hong kong etc. so i don't want to be duped into buying something crap. but if this is an original 'bape', and if they plan on getting in some more stuff, i think i might seriously have died and gone to heaven. tomorrow i will inspect this thing further, hopefully with the aid of pete cause he's the only other person i know with a nose for the ape stuff, and report back with my findings.
a bathing ape: tokyo - hong kong - london - streetcore [erm...]

//grant, i'm bored//
it's not even midnight and there's no1 interesting to talk to on this damn computer. i am bored. bOrEd. BoReD. yep i'm bored. i will probably go out of my mind before i finish this blog. i'm also very hot, possibly feverish, tho i think it's due to having the laptop on my lap (of all places), as irwin does tend to get a bit sweaty after a while.
today i shopped as usual. i bought new trainers and picked up my glasses, so it begins, the neverending cycle of school yard taunts about speccy four eyes etc etc. oh the humanity. except i'm 23 and no longer at school. i will just have to wear the contempt of my friends like a thin veil, tho thankfully not over my eyes 'cause that would give me headaches like before and the glasses would have been pointless.
tomorrow i am going to marion of all places. i'm not sure why, possibly to be a nice sister and pick something up for one of my brothers. possibly just 'cause i'm bored. possibly 'cause my dad might meet me for a coffee while he waits for my mum, who is going to hospital for a small op. probably because i have nothing better to do. holidays are now dragging a little. purely because all the good stuff is happening on friday (shopping) and saturday (minke) and alas it is only wednesday.
sweet london.

//hypocrisy//
here's one good reason to get really peeved off with christian groups. driving past a church hall on goodwood rd today and there's a huge sign bold as brass on the road side which reads:
"homosexuals - unacceptable to god"
the people responsible for this can go to hell as far as i'm concerned. the sort of attitude that this breeds is feral, and i can't believe they get away with advertising blatant bigotry on the roadside. they ought to be ashamed of themselves [this is by no means indicitive of my thoughts towards all christians but just the few idiots who spoil it for everyone]
well that's my rant for the day. on a more positive note i bought a really sweet pair of syke jeans today. to cap the night off it was coffee on unley road, and planning for a shopping trip down the west end on friday. ok101 here i come!!
things i did today to help me get to london - +1 for thinking positive thoughts about it, -1 for spending more money on clothes...will i ever learn?

//rock n roll could never hip hop like this//
that's better! back on trusty irwin. i feel like such a traitor when i use a pc they are so lame! well what a week it's been. it's gone in so quickly as i predicted it would and i'm sure the next one will be just as speedy. always the way. looking back on my list of things to do over the holidays i've actually been quite productive. i've gotten drunk a couple of times, climbed mt lofty a few times, shopped, done lunch etc etc. not a bad effort. no brewery tour as yet but there is still a week to go.
the weekend has been a great amount of fun. i danced for about 8 hours straight at the minke bar last night and it has to be the coolest place to hang out in adelaide. i stumbled out this morning at about 6am, tired, a little dazed and thankfully without a hangover. i think i danced off all the alcoholic effects!
my exercise regime continues and i'm doing not too badly. will have to make up for a weekend of booze, pizza and bbq food tomorrow with a nice brisk walk around the cove (yay how exciting...smell the sarcasm) and maybe a swim weather permitting. i think i might have to quit punishing myself with the mt lofty thing after there was talk of snake sightings on the way up there yesterday. the thought of getting fatally bitten by a brown snake in the name of exercise isn't really appealing. plus i'm running out of people to make come up there with me!
weird things that have happened this week: having coffee and crepes at the kroffle while talking to a couple of drunk canadians who were a little disillusioned with australia and it's people...one of them consequently took it as a personal thing against our group. sorry to shatter any utopian illusions people have of australian society...i forgot we're supposed to be perfect. i think that's the funny thing about travel. people gain a heightened sense of naivety about where they're going, and they run into a couple of sexist comments from a minority of louts, or discover that a colonised society might still have some issues regarding it's settlement to sort out, and suddenly we're all a bunch of racist, backward ferals. of course i'm sure the fact that the person in question was incredibly drunk had something to do with their attitude, but it got on my nerves just a little. as an aside, the nutella and ice cream crepes are delicious.
things i have done since tuesday to help me on my way to london: -1, i had to spend the majority of my savings on my new versace glasses. woe is me.
ps. i searched for 'tizer' on google today and was happy to discover that i am listed 28th, out of almost 5000 hits. not too bad for a new kid on the block! my namesake came first...visit it at http://www.tizer.co.uk

//slack y'all//
aren't i a slacker? it's been ages since i posted anything. how lame. i have been very busy. too busy in fact to write anything now. i'm on a horrible pc at the moment so will endeavour to write more when i'm back on my trusty mac. for now, i have some printing to do, and i have to submit my tax return before it's too late. lame!
