//the book of ages//

the book of ages is constantly being updated. i feel that tonight a new leaf was turned. tonight i tried the kraffle place and it was excellent. everything there is delicious. i had a crepe with caramel toffee crunch ice cream and chocolate sauce. i'm clearly out of my head though because i had some things i was going to write down here and i can't remember any of them.

tonight i also went to see 'red dragon' which was borderline lame. better than 'hannibal' but not as good as 'silence of the lambs'. i managed to watch the whole movie without realising that it was actually a prequel to 'silence of the lambs, so must have sounded like the thickest person alive when i exclaimed sarcastically "oh THIS looks familiar like i haven't seen this before" when Lectar is in the high security place mental hospital/jail that is featured at the beginning of 'silence of the lambs'. i think the whole prequel thing is a crock of shit to be honest. oh well, u live and learn.

anyway, i'm obviously on another planet 'cause i'm so tired. my shift at work tomorrow will probably involve a 7.30am-7.30pm day. i might write in tongues tomorrow! stay tuned...

p.s. (i think i used the word 'tonight' too many times tonight)

//don't believe the hype//

just thought i'd mention a couple of really cool web sites i've been looking at.

http://www.banksy.co.uk
this is my favourite at the moment. great stencils and lots of cool photos of his work. a very decent website.

http://www.designiskinky.com
also check out their book 'permanent' which is at borders. loads of cool designs from various artists/designers/illustrators etc. and a cdrom too with profiles, flash animation and all sorts of crap. and sammy the squirrel is so cute!

//all work and no play...//

what a long, long day. i left home for work this morning at 8am and returned at 9pm. how lame. needless to say i'm knackered. today was pay day tho so all is not lost. i managed to pick up a copy of 'vertigo' on dvd for only $16, and i also finally picked up my copy of the soundtrack to 'in the mood for love' which i am listening to now. my addiction to buying cds continues. i'm currently averaging 1 per week - will possibly also buy 'sgt. peppers' before the fortnightly pay cycle is complete. then let's not forget lauryn hill 'unplugged'.

fortunately my appetite for spending money can be fed vicariously through the spending of others. some light relief will come in the form of helping pete buy some new jeans tomorrow night. whether i can manage to go the whole time without running into 'sole' and picking up my diesels will be another matter altogether. i think it is becoming a serious addiction. i still haven't properly checked out 'ok101' and 'citizens of the world' yet either and judging by what i've seen other people wearing i could do some serious damage in both places. is there some form of therapy for retail overindulgence? i tried reading 'no logo', but it hasn't helped. brand me baby!

//2 swallows don't make a summer//

i have filled up my boost juice card and now i have a delicious free juice just waiting for me when i want it. me, pete and trish went there today and then sat around on the benches in rundle mall looking cool. trish then bought parachutes which is very cool...i think i should also buy it and ditch the mp3s...i owe coldplay that much.

the arias were pretty lame (i did miss 2 hrs of it...that might have been the best bit). tho kasey chambers did do a wicked version of 'true colors' which was certainly a redeeming factor. now im settling into watching the 2nd half of 'breaking the waves' with a bar of smarties chocolate. i can't find my eastenders tape tho which is a bit annoying.

today i finished reading chuck palahniuk's new book 'lullaby' (he's the dude that wrote 'fight club') and it was pretty cool. everyone told me how sick it was tho and to be honest i really couldn't see it. it was no enid blyton granted but after reading 'american psycho' not that long ago there's possibly not much else in the written word that can faze me too much! i am about to start the new ruby wax one tho...so i might take that back after i'm finished :) i think it's official too that geri halliwell is a lame slapper, judging by her new book.

5 more days of work then 2 wks off. bring it on. it's been over 2 years since i had a decent amount of time off work and i don't know what i'll do with myself :) i plan to walk up and down mt lofty several times and possibly even a trip to the barossa is on the cards. the possibilities are endless (not strictly true since i am almost always skint)!

//pleasant times//

today has been another squaa day in the life of the deb. after meeting ange and trish at marion (i must add at this point that marion really sux...there's about 3 decent shops there and that's it - lame!) and having lunch and a packet of carrots we went back to trish's place for a couple of pales. trish then cooked us a roast dinner with dessert and everything as it was her flatmate andrew's birthday. good on trish for cooking, good on andrew for having a birthday. pleasant times...

i learnt how to play a new card game tonight called 'shithead'. it involves a lot of farting around with cards that are worth different things and it takes ages to get used to cause there's so many rules. after gloriously winning my first ever game, i ended up being the shithead twice in a row which kind of sucked.

after a few games we watched a really lame show called 'footballers wives' which is full of really skanky people. i have to admit that tonight is not the first time i've watched it and despite it being crap it's actually really addictive. there's something about watching shows about trash with cash that appeals i guess. speaking of lame english shows, i'm capping off my night with a nice episode of eastenders which i am also addicted to.

life doesn't get much better than this

//shout out//

ok this is a lame thing to do, but i feel the need. i just want to say that my new favourite clothing label is syke [http://www.syke.com.au], an aussie label that make some of the coolest clothes in the world (including what is possibly the best skirt ever, which i own). i asked them a question about something and they wrote back. really quickly. i will try to spend as much of my savings on syke clothing as possible. f**k london.

speaking of london - things i've done today to help me get there: 0

oh well, early days yet

well here goes...my first journal entry

i'm generally crap at keeping diaries, and i expect this will be no exception but hopefully i'll make more of an effort cause it's online and all that sort of thing so it seems like more fun

pete, my ex-flatmate and wonderful friend, designed the whole thing and i think he's made a pretty damn fine job of it. pete - when u screw up your uni etc and can't get a decent job you can blame me for making u do this when u should have been studying :) thank u funny bear!

anyway, this might not even have worked so i'm not going to waste all night crapping on...i'm all blogged out
